On reflection

Posted by
Richard (Ellemford, United Kingdom) on 23 April 2011 in Architecture.

In the city, just north of St Pauls Cathedral is this church, Saint Vedast-alias-Foster in Foster Lane, in the City of London. It is dedicated to Vedast (Foster is an Anglicisation of his name), a French saint whose cult came to England through contacts with Augustinian clergy

Mostly I write books and other things that people pay me for. What I'd like to do is to take more photographs. Ideally I'd like to try combining the two at some point in the future. . .

This is a bit strange, am I looking at a reflection, or am I looking through glass?

23 Apr 2011 9:41am

@Curly: Perhaps the title gives it away!

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

Yeah but sometimes (depending on the direction of the light) reflections can be seen from the inside.

23 Apr 2011 9:53am

@Curly: But, it's still a reflection!

Yes, you are officially now a PHOTOGRAPHER, too.
And this beautiful, artful shot proves it. Lovely angle and effect. :-)

Neat piece of history. I went to Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri where Churchill delivered the Iron Curtain Speech. In comemoration of that event, a blitz damaged Wren church, St Mary's Aldamenbury (sp?) was disassembled and sent across the pond to Westminster. It is now the center of the Churchill Memorial.

The church in the background here looks much like it.

@Monterey John: John, I didn't know that about St Mary Aldermanbury, I just read the wiki entry, and so thanks for the insight into a fascinating piece of history.
